"It is my desire to develop self aware, thinking, feeling and knowledgeable riders.."

Understanding and Balance (What is Balance?)*
I strive to provide quality instruction to riders of all ages and disciplines. For me, this means getting riders to recognize and feel balance in movement.
Understanding underlies balance. When understanding and balance are present, a sense of well being and satisfaction in horses and riders is visible. Everything feels easier.
Achieving balance is a dynamic process. It is quite beautiful as well.
I encourage riders to develop self awareness of their bodies and minds so they can ride with focus, curiosity and enjoyment.
Learning how a horse learns is part of this process. When riders can apply clear and consistent aids so their horses understand what is expected of them, the learning is steady, progressive and makes sense.
These riders can then make appropriate choices for themselves and their horses. This is usually the safest, most direct and most enjoyable method of training.
It is my desire to develop self aware, thinking, feeling and knowledgeable riders.
*Balance
When I am riding and the horse is balanced under me, it feels like there is relatively equal weight and thrust in all four corners (feet and legs). This feeling is quite remarkable. The combination of effortlessness and power is amazing.

Lessons
Individual, semi private and group lessons are available. I currently teach lessons on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Most people ride their own horses but, I do have one school horse if you do not have your own horse.
Please feel free to come visit and watch lessons. This is a great way to meet me, talk to my students and determine if I am a “good fit” for you and your horse.
